The Utility Network Isolation and Customer Notification Tool is a general tool that will help utilities generate notifications to impacted customers due to system repair. This tool works in conjunction with Utility Network to process the result of a trace operation. For example, a water utility that needs to repair a leak can inform the impacted customers by generating a notification to those that will have no water.

It includes the following functionality:

• Map display and visual reporting of the valves to be closed to isolate a leakage.
• Map display and visual reporting of impacted pipelines, meters, hydrants, and customers.
• Generate Customer notices to those affected by the outage in the system.
• Determine if there are valves in the system that can be opened to provide backflow sources for areas of the system that would otherwise be cut off.
• Reporting of the volume of water to be drained from the system.
• Reporting of the secondary valves that should be closed in case the primary valves fail during closure.
• Tracing analysis involves incorporating valve status (open/closed/disabled/enabled).
• Generation of a comprehensive report containing the information necessary to isolate the pipe.
• Ability to customize the isolation report format and content-based on-site requirements.
• Ability to flag high-risk customers, such as hospitals or other critical accounts, in the isolation report.
